Emil Otto launches new flux SOLAR-FLUX EO-S-023 for the solar industry

With the new SOLAR-FLUX EO-S-023, flux specialist Emil Otto is further expanding its portfolio of fluxes for the manufacture of solar modules. The leading manufacturer of fluxes for the electronics and solar industry from Eltville in the German state of Hesse is once again presenting innovative solutions to further optimize processes in assembly and connection technology.

The new water-based flux with a solids content of 2% has been specially developed for soldering solar modules, tabber and stringer material as well as for connecting cells. The NO Clean-Flux, which is also VOC-free, is based on a halide-, resins- and rosin-free formulation. “The new solar flux is characterised by powerful activation, leaves no sticky residue and is free from corrosive effects. The activators are specially designed for the higher temperatures required in the manufacture of solar modules, which is why heat does not impair their effectiveness,” explains Markus Geßner, Head of Marketing and Sales at Emil Otto GmbH.

SOLAR-FLUX EO-S-023 is also available as a concentrate and, as a water-based flux, is biodegradable. It is therefore not a hazardous material and can be transported, handled or stored in the conventional way with reduced volume. The ease of storage in particular is a significant added value. “This is an important factor for module manufacturers abroad. As this flux is not a hazardous material, the shipping and transport costs are many times lower,” concludes Geßner.
